Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.0/100, a mean average of 76.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

Great album, I preferred little earthquake. Past the mission and space dogs are my favourites on this one.
One of the best album of Tori
My favorite Tori Amos. 'Pretty Good Year', 'The Waitress' and 'Yes, Anastasia' are great tracks which sum up her abilities in three songs.
Best tracks: Cornflake Girl, Bells for Her, Space Dog, Baker Baker.
Another good album from her. I know some folks who think this is her best. I can't agree but I can agree to disagree.
Tori Amos kicks arse in a raw, confessional style. She's vaj-with-teeth (per se). She demonstrates what is beautiful and strong and vulnerable about women. "God" is the best track off of this album. ("God sometimes you just don't come through.") She's not as impenetrably raw as Kate Bush. She doesn't experiment into off-kilter electronic arenas (for the most part) like bjork. She has her poetic eccentricities and runs with them, but unfortunately, her lyrical content sometimes becomes a bit convoluted.
I dunno about you guys, but personally, I found this album to be much of a disappointment after the nearly-perfect Little Earthquakes. It didn't cover any new ground, yet, at the same time, it didn't have the magic of Tori's debut, either.
