Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.7/100, a mean average of 64.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

This one is too safe. It’s catchy, but that’s about it. All in all, a very generic rock album.

“The singing is mostly off-key”. That’s just Kid Cudi. If you don’t like it, fine, but know that it’s on purpose.

This album isn't even close to as bad as most Cudi fans think it is. Some solid tunes on here. The Where Did You Sleep Last Night? cover is awesome. Pretty strong last 4 songs.

Kid Cudi produced by longtime friend and collaborator Dot Da Genius. The beginning of Cudi's experimental phase. Probably not what you're expecting. Far from rap/hip hop very alternative. No features other than a few guitar riffs. Upper Room is the standout song here. That and Where Did You Sleep Last Night. I really enjoyed this album.

This was a phenomenally disappointing album. I really liked the idea behind the album. A collaboration between rapper Kid Cudi and producer Dot Da Genius, this album was inspired by all the right things. Cudi said that the album would be a rock album, he said that he was inspired by ELO, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana and The Pixies. He also said that he didn’t want any cursing to be present on the album, wanted to keep it away from stereotypical rap. Sounds great right? I was pumped. Then I listened to the album. The music is pretty bad. The sound is cool, but the singing is mostly off-key and the music is fairly boring. They do a cover of the Leadbelly song, made famous off of Nirvana’s Unplugged album, “Where Did You Sleep Last Night" and that was decent. But not great. It’s unfortunate, I had really hoped that this album would be good and it wasn’t. Not worth listening to in my opinion.
