Michael Gira has already said that this will be the final Swans album in this "big sound" style (if at all), and given his age it might be time for something more stripped down and less physically demanding. What a great swansong (pun intended) to the last 15 years of the band's second lifespan. Perhaps not as essential as The Seer or To Be Kind, but it certainly feels like a fitting send off to one of the most important bands in my musical education.

Never the easiest of listens, the first three tracks (the best three tracks) top out at over one hour. Gira claims this is the last "big sound" Swan album, which could see the return to Brett Angell, 4-4-2 and some lengthy corner grass.
