Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.9/100, a mean average of 64.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.5.

There's nothing offensive here. Some very catchy tunes. Nice album. Bought it in the back of them supporting Tom pretty at Hyde Park a couple of months before he passed away. They were very good.

Well-written and catchy. Not everything needs to be innovative to be good. I guess it's the association with pop, but I think pop as a genre in general is too often written off.

Flowers in Your Hair and Stubborn Love are my favorites.

A couple years ago, a friend asked me to explain the appeal of "Ho Hey," the lead single from this album. What I said--and it makes more sense to me now more than ever--is that people are desperate for a sense of connection, a sense of belonging, a sense of community. They want to sing together. Which is why they're especially drawn to the catchy chorus, with the lines, "I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart." The rest of the songs don't quite hit the same Colorado folksy peak, but "Dead Sea" is pretty great, too.

Kind like a less annoying Mumford and Sons, but nothing really new for the whole genre

The Lumineers are lacking in originality/innovation, but they still manage to make a perfectly listenable album.

It's one of these bands where I start to listen to the album and after the first track my minds starts wandering around and I think about important things (what can I do this weekend? Did I turn out the light in the bathroom? When do I have to clean up the kitchen?) and then the CD is over and I have no idea about the music. I can no concentrate on this music. Even though generally I like the style. I don't know why...
