Yeahhhh it's definitely a step down from one of the decade's greatest triumphs, "Cosmogramma", but it's nonetheless really well produced and structured & I'm a fan of the calmer vibes... I just feel like the magic touch isn't there. A lot of it fails to make an impact and veers towards monotonous rather than riveting. It's still a good piece of work, but for me, it's a record to appreciate with my mind rather than one to relish with my heart.

it seems like a lot of half assed ideas passed off as intentionally underdeveloped by being made into short tracks. I was hoping for jazz and I didnt really get it

Hats off to Flying Lotus for trying to make this something a little different and it is his most "chilled" album and makes for very easy listening. But what i've come to love about Flying Lotus (through Cosmogramma) is that he is very thought provoking and interesting whereas on this album the whole thing just felt very subdued and lacking that "spark" that gripped me about Cosmogramma and You're Dead. There were some moments that I loved (Electric Candyman, The Nightcaller). If you want something nice on in the background while you do work or something, then this album is great because its nice, relaxing etc. but that isn't what I like about Flying Lotus so I found myself quite disappointed.
My second favorite of his, I love the Thom Yorke track

great studying album
I prefer it to Cosmogramma. A much more chilled record though. One of my favourites of the year so far.

All of the critics who will call this album musical genius are probably correct. I just found myself working too hard to convince myself that I was enjoying the music when I really was not.
