There are few artists in music or movies that can get me excited about a product before its release, but RZA is on that shortlist. I went into this soundtrack expecting a lot given the great work on Kill Bill and Afro Samurai and it definitely lives up. Blakroc is back, even if only for one track in the opener The Baddest Man Alive. Kanye West has his best overall song since MBDTF in White Dress and it just might be Kanye's best rapping effort since College Dropout. Ghostface, the chef, and Kool G Rap have a great one in Rivers of Blood that I can't wait to see in the actual movie. The soundtrack closes with a brilliant song by RZA himself called I Go Hard with one of the more instrumentally epic and cinematic pieces I've heard in some time. I am incredibly hyped for the movie now, and I'll probably have spun this a half dozen times before next weekend.
