Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.6/100, a mean average of 75.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

From LedZep 06/27/2020 21:35 in You must listen to the album below you: canon edition
“(1) Always wanted to listen to Andy Stott, but never got round to it. This is some seriously good techno and related stuff. It starts pretty slow and predictable, the first song is decent but from the second track on it's a blast. Trance-like vocals are an unusual fit to a fairly weird and…”

From desh79 02/26/2018 14:08 in What album are you listening to right now?
“Came upon this whilst expanding my 2012 list. Very good bit of minimal techno, 4/5 (or 8/10 if you're more a out of 10 kinda person).”

From Jimmy Dread 06/02/2017 14:15 in BETH Round 1 - Virgo vs Luxury Problems
“Best Ever Techno & House Album Round 1: Nominated by Gowi 8 amazing tracks of the deepest Chicago sounds that ooze such quality in production and sound. Think of the best tracks from Marshall Jefferson, Armando and Fingers Inc. rolled into one and you get the Virgo album.. VS. Nominated by Hayden…”

I usually write out relatively long reviews of albums... but I really don't have much to say here. I feel like I was shoved into a lagoon and I'm now sinking and I have no idea where I am and I can't breathe and overall yeah I'd say its a pretty good experience. 8.5/10

It is very pleasing to hear. No questions on that.
The songs are relatively good and the aesthetics of sound is very captivating.
Even so, there aren't tracks that standout and consequently the album is nothing more than a nice hearing experience.

It's not really the kind of techno I like. It's dubby, slow and the voices are not always helping. It's nonetheless showcasing a great talent and the last two tracks are excellent.
