Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.9/100, a mean average of 75.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.2.

This is very strange but oddly very good. It is so unique that it is difficult to try and say what style it is or suggest some records that might be similar. It is so unorthodox and stands out from everything else that is impossible to hear this and forget it. The dark and brooding atmosphere is created perfectly by the instrumentation and wild vocals. The elongated songs, while on other records may sound slow and pointless, on here help to build the tension. We are engulfed in suspense and await the conclusion to all these build ups and I always found the pay off to be worth it. Surprisingly, it is quite infectious as well and the voice stays with me long after the album is done. However, it does slow down a bit on the second half and the first two tracks are definitely the peak of the album. Overall, this is an unconventional album that can really confuse you on first listen but after visiting it a few more times you start to love the nuances and strangeness present here and it becomes a lot of fun to explore. Also, Edweena is phenomenal.
i think i shit myself
This album sounds like it was forcibly extracted from some poor old man's inner psyche.
There's something so disturbing about that riff from about 2 minutes into Edweena that reappears throughout the album.
Odd, but good.
When the poor guy cries the ship is going down, I feel so sorry for him tears come to my eyes.
Well I finished this album today and I don't know what to make of it. It had an atmosphere like nothing I have felt before. Won't be able to say more until I listen to it again.
This eerie, dark and macabre sound experiment is gargantuan in scope. This is a form of avantgarde music that has no precedent. Part symphonic primitivism and part cacophonous world-music, the sound of 'Not Available' is a strangely disconcerting and disorientating hybrid of postmodern film noir, hillbilly 'slasher' horror and David Lynch-ian surrealism.
This album is otherworldly. I get such a strange, but good, feeling every time I listen to it. Truly a masterpiece.
I just downloaded this recently and I'm in love with it, it is so experimental and quirky I love it. These guys are a such a mystery, making it all the better.
