Despite the band's lauded hardcore origins, if Children of Desire were to be released in 2010 it would have easily been classified as Chillwave - especially due to the songs nature to swirl in a non-distinct, blurred fashion. Indeed, they often sound like Republic-era New Order been given a distinctly dream-pop remix - and that's a good thing by the way.
Hopefully the album is not the sum of their abilities and is more a stepping stone to (more promising) things to come. Good album all the same.
