Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.7/100, a mean average of 75.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.1.

Dude, are you serious?
This album only has two potentially bad songs on it, "Brick Shithouse" and "Scared of Girls". The rest of the songs are exceptional, full of mostly somber overtones.
The best song on the album is undoubtedly "Without You I'm Nothing", which deserves a much higher rating. I'm surprised how underrated you guys have Placebo here.
Do you guys want to see Brian Molko singing that he woke up yesterday sucking on a lemon to give this album a five-star rating?
It starts off extremely well with what is the joint best song on the album but is then inconsistent in terms of quality for the rest of the record. From song to song, the performances go up and down and never really nail down a constant flow making the album feel quite disjointed. The filler tracks are just bland and feel empty at times and the quantity of filler tracks is quite concerning. However, when they get into their rhythm they are brilliant. This is exemplified on the tracks Pure Morning, Every You Every Me and Burger Queen. The performances on these cuts are infectious and make for some of my favourite songs of theirs by a long shot. Unfortunately, the album drags on to long for these songs to outshine the content that drags the record down. Overall, it is still a pretty decent album boosted massively by those few huge songs and without those the album would really suffer.

Always in two minds with Placebo albums. Starts of with absolute greatness (Pure Morning) & continues with another couple of fantastic tracks. Some other killer tracks (Every Me, Every You) along with some very good ones (My Sweet Prince, Scared Of Girls). But I find a lot of similar monotonous filler on there albums and this one is no exception hence why I can't rate it higher. Also, whats the guts with hidden track bullshit. "Burger Queen" is a good song, then you have over 10 minutes of silence before another track appears. An annoying concept.
Very consistent throughout, their finest album, not to mention the nostalgia factor, it brings up a lot of emotions and memories, Overall, 80/100.
Good album Favourite songs: Without You I'm Nothing and Every You Every Me
Outstanding late 90's rock
Worst track: Brick Shithole

Great album, this should be destined to become a classic.
This album just gets better with age.......love burger queen, every you
every me, and of course pure morning.

It's a pretty good album, with some great songs on it, but overall it didn't really stand out for me.
Best tracks: Pure Morning, Every You Every My, You Don't Care About Us
Worst track: Brick Shithouse
