Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.4/100, a mean average of 74.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

This is the band's best and most consistently good album imo.I love The Bitter End and This Picture
My favourite Placebo album a lot of it for personal reasons as the songs at the time the album released just grabbed me and I still listen to it and have recently bought the beautiful blue vinyl Special Edition! Geeky! The tracks are all different. Some punky, some more electro, some ballady and tender but the deep down Placebo sound is always there. I always think this album is when Placebo musically grew up.
Favourite Tracks: This Picture, Sleeping with Ghosts, Special Needs
Worst Tracks: N/A!

Very good alternative rock album. Best 10 songs average is 87,5/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Best songs are "English summer rain", "This picture", "The bitter end" and "Special needs" all 90/100, followed by "Sleeping with ghosts" and "Protect me from..." both 85/100.
The first 5 songs are very impressive, especially 'bitter end', and later 'special needs'...... Wow
Without 'something rotten' and 'protect me' I would give it
A 95. My favorite placebo album, and that's saying a lot.
Excellent first part (in particular tracks 1,3,4,5), huge dip after that. Overall, 70/100. (Edited)
