Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.4/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

I adore this record, definitely one of their best if not the best. It is very creative with not so obvious compositions and definitely an unique album.

The mixing might not be the best but you get used to the drums on the left side, although the guitar also at some points changing channels can be distracting. Despite that, it definitely carries its own charm with the way it sounds.

You could argue that the vocals here are not the best by Mark and Don, he/they get too excited with some high notes in some songs like "High on a Horse", "Call yourself a Man" and "Can't be too Long" but it is not a deal breaker if you can enjoy the other aspects of those songs which are overall pretty solid.

Like the album after this one, it feels a very honest record, not pretending to be anything that it is not.

Also, "Heartbreaker" is one of my favorite songs ever.

Classic Funk, but this band remains virtually unknown outside the US, which is a shame. The mixing of guitar and drums is not done too well. Overall this is a fine jam album from Funk.
