This album always impresses me. I don't think anyone in 1953 was writing and performing satire songs about the dirty south, drug dealers, cannibalism, and love beyond death.
This album is true delight for anyone looking for music that is left-of-center and witty and dry.
If this isn't influential I'd be very surprised.
