Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 10% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.8/100, a mean average of 75.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.0.

This is an intriguing and unique listen with a fresh concept I have never heard before. They attempt to craft a musical recreation of the four elements and for the most part it works very well. It creates strong images and ideas in the listeners head and the way they use tempo to create the elements is fantastic. The harsher elements are a lot more frantic and wild and the softer ones are more delicate. The performances on the instruments are great and they bring a lot of life to the music. However, the instrumentation can feel a bit repetitive at times and by the end you do want them to mix it up a bit more. Also, I do think the songs are a little bit too elongated and most of what needs to be said has been done by the 5 minute mark. Overall, there are some fantastic ideas on here that are executed very well but they don't hold that for the full run time.

This is the band that adapted and introduced world music to western rock music, and this is their masterpiece: a 40 minutes dip into the deep psychedelic atmosphere of this four brilliant compositions.

Too long? It's not even 37 minutes.

Really just isn't my cup of tea. I gave it a 60/100 because there were bits that had me intrigued, but quite a lot just made me distance myself from it and concentrate on something else.

The main thing that I liked about this is the portrayal of the four elements. Each song crafted each element very creatively, and for instrumentals had very strong imagery, which means this gets a 60 and not a 50.

A great world album. It gives me a clear vision of each "element". The album is a little too long, but I feel it's justified.
