Birthday and Blue Eyed Pop are good songs, but in truth the rest is no good. Find the vocals quite annoying at times.

One of Björk's lesser interesting efforts in her discography, but it still has some great songs. Birthday is the best song on here.
I remember having a taped copy of this back in 88 as a teen but not liking it and taping over it quite quickly. What an idiot! Revisiting this, it's superb. Bjork's voice is magical of course, but the broader group dynamic seems to bring out something else. This is great.

A wonderful album! Top five Bjork album right here. A post punk/alternative rock album with Bjork on vocals, what's not to like? She rocks. Wish they had at least one comeback album later in her career.
Favorite Tracks:Birthday, Blue Eyed Pop
Starts off really strong, particularly with the first three tracks, but drops off a bit afterward. Still a quality album, I really can't get enough of Bjork's style and voice!

Overall a good album, lyrically this is pretty abstract at times, but I can still get a grasp on the basic concepts (I think). I have absolutely no idea what "delicious demon" is supposed to mean though. Bjork's vocals are phenomenal (particularly on the track birthday), I'm really looking forward to this project now. I like how the music has some variety to it, but at times it's a little jarring, not a fan of the transition from traitor to motorcrash, though I enjoyed both songs. I find the beginning and ending of this album to be the best, but I find it drags quite a bit in the middle. I wouldn't call this a phenomenal album, but it is promising, and I'm looking forward to hearing the next two of The Sugarcubes' albums.
