Despite a small lack of production quality, these guys have a lot of QOTSA coming from them with some obvious Mudhoney influence and a little bit of Rolling Stones. They carry their own kind of essence with some great compositions and interesting lyrics. Sure, these guys aren't perfect musicians, but they still display potential for fantastic musicinanship.
Some may think of Styrofoam Tombstone as an album trying to be one thing and too many bands. If you ask me, the album works as many things: and indie album, a stoner rock work, and a grunge album. It's not too much. It's an intro to their skill.
