Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.2/100, a mean average of 73.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

I absolutely love this album. For me it’s 3rd from Brandon (after Sams Town and Hot Fuss respectively). The hooks are irresistible and all the songs are good. Even if you go in skeptical, by the end of every song you’ll be tapping your foot. This is perfect pop music. nuanced, fun, and meaningful. Brandon sure knows how to write a pop number
Feels more fresh and interesting than some of the lesser Killers albums and Flowers'first solo record. It's short and sweet with lovely variety and some irresistible hooks.
Great underrated album. Best project from Flowers since Hot Fuss. Not a single bad track, and there are even some great ones.
Feel it was a nice step up from both his last solo album and the last killers album. Nice production, fairly good song variety, and lovely production.
Has some standout tracks, but then everything else on the record is pretty average.
7.5/10
For fans of glittery 80s pop, this is heaven on earth. Crisp, modern production combined with sounds reminiscent of the greatest of the 1980s lends to an incredibly satisfying listen. It's a strikingly consistent record, one that repeatedly blasts tunes blessed with an inherent joyful swagger.
Definitely top 10 of 2015.
