Always on the look out for new music so all suggestions welcome. I'd like to think all of these albums are gems so if you have 't heard any of them they're pretty safe bets. A handful of albums culled by dominant artists for the sake of diversity but nothing too drastic.

According to the bean counters this a compilation. 16 perfect songs written and recorded within months of each other satisfies my definition of an album for what it's worth.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Epic Chart with fantastic choices! I would quibble with your inclusion of either Kanye West album, as his music just doesn't strike the right chord with me. But to each his own. I am not familiar with Cold Chisel, so I am going to have to check them out. I liked your prefatory comments about the jazz entries and being a jazz novice myself I see many of your picks which I'll need to explore. Great contribution to the site! Thanks!

Interessting chart very innovative maybe you can add Pink Floyd as a new Pick for the Frank sinatra Album from 57 but nevertheless immense good choices.

Nice selections of rock, jazz, folk, indie/alt, and hip-hop. A good blend of well known albums and more under the radar choices. I added a couple to my "listen to later" list. Cool!
