Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.6/100, a mean average of 76.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.4.

Cult-band Jawbreaker delivers their final independent album before signing with Geffen for their triumphant and impactful Dear You.

While fans claim 24 Hour Revenge Therapy is their greatest, there is much lacking here, with barely audible vocals and only flashes of the brilliance and melodic structure that would surface on Dear You.

The highlights are the anthem Boxcar and Condition Oakland, with it's length and sampling being a prelude to Jet Black on the Dear You album. The lyrics and vocals are angsty as anything and serve as a cornerstone of angsty music that would come in the late 90s and 2000s.

Anyone unfamiliar to Jawbreaker should start with Dear You and look to this album next if they want more.

Condensed to a 7" Single:
A-Side: Boxcar
B-Side: Condition Oakland

Personally I think this was Jawbreaker's best album. The quality is more consistent than Dear You though the production values are lower given their lack of money at the time. The 1st 6 songs are all excellent and West Bay Invitational is hilarious. Most of the a songs are direct charges with high energy... short and sweet like old school punk. However Condition Oakland stretches out a bit as it takes the listener on a Kerouac fueled journey through East Bay life. 24 Hour Revenge Therapy was a very influential album in the 90s punk scene known well by peers by not as well by fans.
