Stryper was a big thing as they brought metal to Christian music and made it okay for the faithful to listen to metal, or the heathen to listen to religious music. But religious affiliation (or lack thereof) aside, the music itself was still just basic, cheezy hair metal. Making it about Jesus didn't make it better.
