While I agree that it is a bit absurd Arcade Fire is ranked higher than so many other amazing artists, they are undoubtedly the greatest band debuting post 2000, even if they are basically sometimes Talking Heads 2.0

Funeral is a masterpiece. I don't really care much for the rest of their discography though. Neon Bible and The Suburbs are good albums too (Reflektor is not), but they're not something I come back to often and they're definitely not even close to Funeral. The group are a bit overrated on here TBH.

One of the better indie bands, pretty overhyped I think but a lot of people seem to love them. That's certainly better than people loving Miley Cyrus right? Just because I don't get them doesn't mean they're bad.

Okay, this is a good band. However, I do find them to be overrated. Their music oozes simplicity, it embraces minimalism and does not try to overwhelm. While that is admirable, it is a bit boring, and I feel that they would benefit from a more daring sound, like The Beatles did toward the end of their run. Judging by their latest single, they are continuing down the path of simplicity.

Arcade Fire is pure heart. The way their music just fills you up and leaves you overwhelmed. Its absolute chaotic imperfect perfection.

Arcade Fire is a little inconsistent in producing incredible material, as half of their catalogue is merely "good" instead of "great", but when you've released a fantastic album in Suburbs and possibly the best debut album of all time in Funeral, it's not really a huge knock. Their music defies the "indie rock" label and turns it into a soulful, engaging, sometimes urgent melody backed by pure vocalization.
