Arcade Fire are almost infuriatingly brilliant.
It's hard to admit that such a modern band could be greater than the classics that even inspired them - but it's true.
Arcade Fire are just able to bring out such raw, truthful emotion in their songs that could speak to anyone.
Funeral, their masterpiece, makes you question life. Neon Bible explores the mind and the soul. The Suburbs looks back at the past and nostalgia.
Win Butler is such a powerful vocalist, but you could almost so he was a better actor. His voice enters places of feeling like few other vocalists can - whilst he might not be technically great, the power and heart he puts into it is mind-boggling, and Régine Chassagne isn't far off.
Lyrics like so simple such as "If you want something, don't ask for nothing; if you want nothing, don't ask for something" bring me shivers when Butler screams them out, it's unlike anything else.
Don't listen to their albums skeptically, open your mind, and you might discover that Arcade Fire really are one of the greatest rock groups of all time. (Edited)
Interesting that so many people are against the idea of Arcade Fire being rated so highly considering they've written so little, but what about a band like Nirvana? I love Arcade Fire and Nirvana, but both bands only have roughly 3 or so albums worth of music. And when you consider Unplugged In New York isn't made up of any new material, it begins to look as though Nirvana made about the same amount of music as Arcade Fire has. Now, no doubt in my mind that Nirvana is far more influential, but that's also because Arcade Fire is likely just getting started. Even if all we were left with was Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs and an early EP, I think Arcade Fire's influence would only continue to grow for decades. From this perspective, I don't think it's that ridiculous to think that maybe we are watching one of the greatest musical artists of recent memory evolve before our eyes. Just a thought (Edited)

Arcade Fire are rated higher on this website than Jimi Hendrix, Queen, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, U2, Nirvana, The Pixes....?!?! Come on, be serious, folks... you're getting a little carried away.

Better than most of the haters' worshipped classics, and with only four albums. Absolutely well deserved top 10 spot, they are one of the best things that have happened in modern music history.
When you see how acclaimed this band is you go to the albums with high hopes, you expect to hear fucking Sgt Peppers 2.0. Unfortunately thats not the case. Needles to say, this band is overrated beyond believe. Specially in this site.
Where are the classic songs that make them one of the top ten best bands ever? Sure they have some good tunes, but not enough, sorry.
Im not saying theyre bad, just overrated. Too much actually.
