Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 85.5/100, a mean average of 83.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 17.8.

I just don't really vibe with late 90s-early 00s alternative. I know a lot of people do, but I have to be honest with myself when I rate these artists.
First four albums were about the best thing going during that time, but they started smelling their own farts at some point.
Three great albums, one mediocre album, three terrible ones.
I like them, but how did they get so high on this website?

Firts four albums are good, the first one is amazing, But something went wrong after Reflektor.
They've made some solid albums and songs but they haven't been releasing very good albums as of recently. They also probably shouldn't be in the top ten.
Incredible band with an incredible discography. Few groups have a better first 4 albums
Better than VU?!
How is this the 8th greatest band in the world, I dont use the word overrated too much but this is taking it too far.
