A good hard rock band. Are they Deep Purple, Queen, Rush, or Black Sabbath? Not quite, though they were better songwriters than most of their rock contemporaries. They just couldn't play as well and lacked the longevity. Many great songs though - almost as many as Rush or Queen, but not quite.
For someone who was there - in real time - putting stylus to vinyl and listening to LZ1, LZ2, LZ3, Untitled, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti for the first time. By the time each album ended, I was somehow different (changed) by the time each album ended - a band that set standards that are rarely surpassed.

So much talent in this band. Every member is arguably the greatest at what they did
I was 12 or so when I bought Led Zeppelin II. I knew it had the original version of the 'Top of the Pops' theme tune on it. I was hooked. Led Zeppelin II is still in my 10 of favourite albums.
Consistently my favorite band since the 70's. It really doesn't get any better than this.

I gave Led Zeppelin not all 5 stars bur 4,5. Because they are my favorite band. And the first time i heard of them my world was completely destroyed but now i love them and my respect for so many greatful songs. Especially the epic Stairway to Heaven
