A major favorite of mine, though it is hard to say exactly why.
I guess because nonclassical music is really all one genre to me, and I love artists who expose that; and Hooker is an urban blues player of real skill and talent whose playing is shot through with country influence-- and I'm not talking just country blues... Gatemouth Brown would be another, but he swings more than Hooker.
