His music usually isn't as great as his drumming.
He and Gene Krupa invented drumming... Why is he only 1745?
Buddy Rich is considered to be the greatest drummer of all time by quite a few well respected drummers (among other musicians). His albums from the 70's were all very, very good, and his band was just phenomenal live.
