She brings some of peter gabriel's sense of drama and grand, sweeping musical gestures. "Tiger" sounds like an exorcism AND resurrection of the soul. "where have all the cowboys gone?" and "i don't want to wait" were good choices for radio play, but "throwin' stones" and the delicate "hush, hush, hush" (featuring peter gabriel) would've been fine choices as well. i like the "thunder" of "mississippi". "road to dead" is on a mission. "me" sounds tortured and ascending. "nietzsche's eyes" is the only lull moment on an album that soars for more.
