Maybe the only lyricist that can rival and even sometimes surpass Dylan. A true wordsmith who is more well known as the chief lyricist for the Grateful Dead and the chief collaborator of Jerry Garcia. Hunter was also an accomplished acoustic guitarist who released many solo folk rock albums sometimes backed by Garcia or other Grateful Dead members and sometimes just solo. A truly underrated artist who deserves much more acclaim than he gets.
