The phrase "tortured genius" is banded around a lot but, for the most part (& especially in his American Music Club era) Mark fits the bill. Actually, I'll qualify that a little. Always tortured, occasional genius. For the genius bit, visit AMC's albums California, a classic, closely followed by Engine & United Kingdom.
