The album I think of first when I hear the word Muzak. Captures the cold feeling of emptiness in airports very well, but if they really played this album out loud over the speakers, people would be much more chilled out in airports.

Queen's "cocaine album". It sounds like that and there's also that one line from "Bicycle Race": "You say coke I say caine". To be a little more straight-forward, it's a crazy album, even if there isn't any jazz on it.

Runnin' with the devil of Van Halen, this debut album is totally on fire from start to finish! With mind-blowingly blistering solos by Eddie, some of the awesomest riffs of all time, a great improvement of Kinks' most famous song and overall great, fun, dumb, but above all awesome to the max rock 'n' roll, Van Halen delivered a pure eruption of an album!

The Beach Boys still got rhythm, but at this point no direction. The album draws on material from the rejected album project called "Adult/Child", but besides carrying the same careless, joyful spirit from previous "Love You", none of the songs seem to reveal anything about a Beach Boys that know where they're going. I wouldn't disagree if anybody called it by far the weakest Beach Boys album of the 1970s, it's probably only for real fans, but then again, it's got too much charm to resist!
Favourite: "She's Got Rhythm" & "My Diane" [First added to this chart: 11/06/2013]

Nightflight to Venus. A title that is a short and precise description of the music. Much more feminine than masculine, this disco album is delightfully uncool and catchy. Completely harmless fun!

One of the most talented songbirds strikes again. Gorgeous strings and other pretty elements, quite typical of 70s ballads maybe, but it will melt your heart nonetheless!

Roll with the REO speedwagon. It's a tuneful, blazing ride. Only robots do not have a good time with this band! Keep on rollin'...

Now, this is what you listen to late at night. Thought-provoking ambient style with jazzy saxophone and other intriguing elements.

Stay hungry, here are more songs from Talking Heads! Not as many standout tracks as last time, but still funky and pure fun.

David Gilmour's break between Roger Waters' ego trips of "Animals" and "The Wall". With this mellower album, Gilmour could finally breathe again and do what he wanted to do. Some nice, smooth guitar playing by the man.
