"Hearkening back to the quick-moving bebop jazz of the 50s, this record has some swiftness to it! Hancock is great on piano, but I think the highlight of the entire album is Fred Hubbard on trumpet. He threw everything he had at this album and it pretty much all stuck." Reply

"Kind of like 'Angel Dust', this LP's probably a more enjoyable and rewarding listen if taken as a progressive / experimental album (instead of a straightforward rock / metal album that happens to have some experimentation mixed in). Time's been a lot kinder to this than it has to 'Angel Dust', th..." [+] Reply

"This was my first Eels album after my brothers advised me to get into them. Excellent album - if a little morose (but there was more morose to come - lol) - but I love this album and band. Seen them live a few times and superb shows" Reply

"Production was really good throughout, which I didn't really expect. Especially towards the end from the instrumental track onwards. As expected, Earl delivers as a lyricist, though thematically this album seems all over the place and without a clear direction. Earl's flow and delivery, always a ..." [+] Reply

"One of Morrissey's greatest albums, there really aren't any low points here, pity he sounds so heartbroken/wounded - however it's not surprising considering the maiming he got from the press in 1992." Reply

"I love Kieran Ebden's positive-vibed, light-infused down tempo electronica. It makes for a nice contrast to his sometimes collaborator, Burial, who has a darker, broodier downtempo feel. As such they make for a perfect yin-yang album collection to simply chill out to depending on your mood. Round..." [+] Reply

"It's historically important to blues fans and Clapton's guitar is great as always, but for some reason it seems kind of forgettable. Steppin' Out and What'd I Say are great." Reply

"Great album, among my most listened to this year. Julian Casablancas at his best. Not sure if it'll age as well as any of the The Strokes' records, but there's a serious appeal to the majority of these songs. It's a bit too long, I might add. My favorite song is either Pointlessness or ALieNNatioN." Reply
