Every Picture Tells a Story - 10 Album Art
by Error Finn

A good cover image has been successfully captured a piece of the disc theme or mood, symmetrical or just catching pattern and, above all, speaks to the viewer, and interest in self-recording to an eye-catching image.(That we all know)
I don´t like monster illustrated albums.I feel they are impersonal and, frankly, ugly. These are predictably, the tedious, which tend to scare and glamorous at the same time. No points, sorry. What remains is still a lot of opportunities ...I appreciate the simplicity, the use of color, humanity, insight and a sense of the situation.
Excellent example of strong colors, and the use of improvised music was record label Impulse!, which was free jazz trendsetter, was able to exploit the new format to the fullest and its LPs are any noted for their distinctive visual style. The label's trademark were black, orange and white.(This is something we all don´t know)
It is interesting to note that a significant proportion of the British pop / rock musicians (in 1960s and beyond) had been in Art Schools. There they learn the the visual, theatrical, and just like to work as a painter. When the musicians start to think like painters, and not enough to their art heard music, but it also be displayed.Sgt. Pepper album cover reveals that the musicians are artists.(The rest is history, and that is why there is a BEA)

We know that one picture speaks more than thousand words, but Robert Crumb comics sing better than a billion babies.A cartoon on the cover of the album!? Why not. Crumb was a hard fan of Joplin, so he, J.J and the band spent a lot of time together. My favorite here is a picture - black woman holding a baby, who is crying or singing the words:"SUMMETIME" (Gerswin Bros; vocals:Janis ARR: S. Andrew)***** [First added to this chart: 11/28/2013]
