The year 1975 has 17 entries in my 70's 100, more than any other year of that decade, so it's obviously a year I feel a real affinity with. I think 74/5 was the apex of the wonderful US led funk era, but other band's like Scotland's Average White Band were doing it as well if not better than the Americans, and that is reflected in this chart. By 76 this music was virtually dead, the Commodores and AWB's 76 albums were dire, for example (I should know, I bought them both), and the momentum of that movement just petered out, unless you were George Clinton.
So it goes: the music scene is forever changing and evolving.
75 is a snapshot, for me, of when that music was at it's best.
