Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 3% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 80.1/100, a mean average of 79.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.6.

A soul man through and through a voice to kill for, so much emotion. The 9 albums he released between 1970-76 are all great the standouts being "I'm Still In Love.." "Let's Stay Together" and "Full Of Fire", the albums "Call Me" and "Explores Your Mind" are also worth a mention. . After recording gospel albums during the 80's & 90's He came back with a bang in 2003 with his album "I Can't Stop" there is no stopping this guy.
Of all the male soul artists Al Green is the one that was possessed of the finest, clearest voice, the voice of an angel. Green made is first recording with his father’s gospel quartet back in 1960 but he took a R&B musical direction and joined a group called the Creations in 1964 and later Al Greene and the Soul Mates. The crucial moment in his career came in 1969 when, after going solo, he teamed up with bandleader Willie Mitchell who linked Green to the excellent house band at Hi Records.
The combination of Green’s sensual and sophisticated voice, a tight backing band and slick production took time to bear fruit but the breakthrough came in 1970 with the single I Can’t Get Next To You which led to a string of polished albums, five of which went ‘Gold’ and a super selection of hit singles throughout the early seventies.

Great artist, the best soul of the 70's.
