I am surprised. I thought Deep Purple had been done in a while ago but as it turned out there recent albums are interesting. The fact that Blackmore and Gillan cannot stay in same group long is one of the sorry situations of rock but as it turns out, Gillan`s voice does keep it real. Purple was never about virtuoso, Purple is about guts, about just a few notes, raw and well placed. About the intensity, the depth ... simple blues and rock, but darn deep impact.
