Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 91.9/100, a mean average of 90.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 92.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.1.

As much as I hate to give an 'ok' vote to a high-rated pixies song this one lacks all of of the elements that makes me love doolittle. Granted the bassline is nice, even catchy maybe, but if we're going by that metric then many mediocre songs are catchy.
An incredible song on an overrated album. The guitar is superb

By far their best song, a true gem in the middle of an overrated album imo.
Perfect pop song
Neo-60s pop rock with one of the most satisfying riffs ever at its centre. It's pretty much impossible not to like.
Ah yes, the gateway drug to Pixies.
This song is so sweet, love it.
Such an awesome track :)
Perhaps the best song on Doolittle, which is definitely saying something. It's Black Francis at his most melodic and subdued, and Joey Santiago at his most restrained--but the effect is just a fantastic little pop song about somebody being killed on a train during an earthquake. Make of that what you will; it's the Pixies, after all.
