I’m slowly working my way through the recent avalanche of Pixies Live albums released in the past 12 months, this ones my fourth in the series’s with something like thirteen to go

This album is from a 1991 concert in France as their meteoric rise was starting to take its toll and band breakup one was just around the corner, you can tell this is a flat performance with not a lot of chemistry between the members. Track wise ‘Tropme Le Monde’ dominates, unsurprising considering it would be released some two months post performance (“Palace of the Brine”, “Planet of Sound”,”Letter to Memphis”, “Subbacultcha”, “The Sad Punk”, “Trompe Le Monde”, “Motorway to Roswell” and of course “Head One” which I didn’t like from JAMC and I feel the same about the Pixies version)

‘Bossanova’ gets 7 tracks (“Rock Music”, “The Happening”, “Allison”, “Velouria, “Hang Wire”, “Blown Away” and “Is She Weird”) with these two albums making up 15 of the 28 tracks

By this stage everyone including fans needed a break and this concert demonstrates why
