Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.5/100, a mean average of 87.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.1/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.4.

A truly epic song in every sense of the word. Spanning over 10 minutes, their second longest track ever, "Endsong" absolutely nails what it's named after. Robert Smith has said The Cure still has some albums left in them. I really hope that is the case, but if this were to be their last song, it works so well. It's a journey through darkness and gloom, and while there are some hints of beauty in the strings, the lyrics drive home the message that has been cooking throughout all the album: "It's all gone", he says, repeatedly. "Left alone with nothing at the end of every song", he sings, bringing a closure to an album that's up there with their best, and also making it kind of a loop, connecting with the opening line on "Alone".
"Endsong" deserves to be recognized as one of their best songs ever. It connects back to tracks such as "Disintegration", "Bloodflowers", "Faith" or even "Sinking", but The Cure has really outdone themselves at closing a record with this musical odyssey.
