Those bands are all pretty awful too.

A few of those are guilty pleasures, though I'm surprised you're not a Filter fan (at least their early stuff). And I think Audioslave deserves a lot more love than they get on this site.

I'm not happy. To be fair though, I do like Ten. From Ten to Vitalogy, I liked Pearl Jam, and then they grew boring to me. Over time I listened to them less and less, and now not at all. But Ten has its merits. I've never been one to blame a band for the shit they opened the doors to. It's not their fault. It's not Dave Matthews fault his fans suck. And I don't hate Faith No More for their influence on rap metal.

But Closing Time is better. So was the Ronettes debut.

No they don't. And that's coming from the guy who had had Superunknown as his avatar for like a year.

In all fairness, it's really hard to sum up post-grunge like that. I mean, yeah, you give me Creed or Daughtry or Nickelback and I will show you that it can be dull.

But bands like Audioslave, Finger Eleven, Filter, Foo Fighters, Matchbox Twenty, Stone Temple Pilots, Switchfoot, The Verve Pipe, The Vines ... a lot of good came from post-grunge, I think.

Stone Temple Pilots always has a few good tracks now and then in their albums, and I would say "Purple" is nearly on par with the big four grunge albums. Great tracks like "Vasoline," "Lounge Fly," and "Interstate Love Song" which is the best track. But the new stuff is sucking hard. As for Switchfoot, I've heard one album. Although it was a little boring, it helps fill up my Christian chart and I'll listen to the new one for '14. Two of these bands have a song I really like. Matchbox 20 for their cover of "Never Going Back Again," and Finger Eleven for "Good Times." And the Foo Fighters have never sucked in my opinion, but none of their songs are top-notch hits. I haven't heard anything form the other three on the bottom half. But I enjoy Creed and Nickleback enough. Haven't heard a lot of Daughtry.

All in all, none of these bands suck IMO, but I've never been a huge fan of post-grunge.
