I think I know the four you're talking about (well, three anyway). I've only seen it twice, but The Princess and The Frog is easily one of Disney's most under appreciated films. It'd easily land in my top 10. The Aristocats would be pretty high up there as well.

And might as well:

Pedro Almodóvar ranked

1. Volver
2. The Skin I Live In
3. All About My Mother
4. Julieta
5. Talk To Her
6. Women On The Verge of A Nervous Breakdown
7. Atame
8. Broken Embraces

And I'll stop there cuz I had honestly 1 to 3 choices for most of the last decade and a half there. Some years there were several I loved, but it became slim pickins.

So this exercise has cast more light on my. Red for more Silent Film recommendations. Wink
-------

Satyajit Ray (6 no. 1s), Richard Linklater (4), Billy Wilder (4) all dominate. But especially Ray.

I'm a messed up person because in the last six months he has become one of my favourite modern directors...

Yorgos Lanthimos:
1) Dogtooth
2) The Lobster
3) Alps
4) Kinetta

... I'll probably be back soon with someone else to rank.
