To a non-fan of Michael Jackson, like me, it sounds like each of his albums had one great track. On Off the Wall it was Don't Stop til You Get Enough, on Thriller it was Billy Jean, on Bad it's Smooth Criminal. And on Dangerous it was Remember the Time. To me, everything else he did was average or sub-average. Unless you're talking about his early 70s solo stuff. Some of those Motown albums had several classic tracks on them.

I don't think they're awful, just not great. But the ones i listed are those that seem really super above average. Actually great.

this was jacko's attempt to reproduce the success of
Thriller... by basically reproducing Thriller. Again, every song was crafted to be a "hit". It was a great attempt that fell a little short of Thriller, and didn't have the same cultural impact.

Anyway, good album, bit less interesting than the previous too, bit more opportunistic as well.
