Right From Real by Lydia Ainsworth
Another new one for me. Gorgeous, lush art pop with some electronic touches, a bit closer to mainstream sensibilities than to mind-bending experimental ones. The vocals and production are both great. Definitely my favorite discovery from this chart so far. 4/5. _________________ Add me on RYM

I Never Learn by Lykke Li
This is another excellent choice and very underrated album. Easily her best, and in my estimation one of the definitive breakup albums. Unrelenting melancholy, raw songwriting, emotive vocals, and production that perfectly fits the songs. It's all great music, but the first seven tracks in particular are outstanding. I loved this from first listen, and I'm glad to have a reason to revisit now and promote it to my overall. 4.39/5. _________________ Add me on RYM

Born To Die by Lana Del Rey
This is a somewhat nostalgic album for me, as it came out a few months before I graduated from high school and was a big part of that summer's soundtrack. It's an album with strange dualities, and I can never decide quite how I feel about it. In many ways I love it, but it's too tacky to become a personal favorite. The lines between sincerity and irony, and between character sketch and autobiography are very blurry throughout. The production is lush and cinematic, but somehow simultaneously canned and thin. The lyrics have some Shangri-Las-esque melodrama, but also some lines that evoke Joker & Harley Quinn relationship memes. So as always, this was a confusing listen, but an enjoyable one. 3.81/5. _________________ Add me on RYM

Feel It Break by Austra
This is a very proficient album technically. It sounds very good and is very pleasant. But I can't perceive an extra spark of originality or personality that will make me come back anytime soon. Recommended for those who have always wanted to hear a Florence Welch soundalike over tasteful instrumentation with more electronic elements. 3.5/5.

Ok so there's still time, but this thread has been mostly me so far. Are people preoccupied with the track tournament? Would you folks prefer taking December off or having another thread as planned? _________________ Add me on RYM

Any thoughts on this? Should I post a poll today or not? _________________ Add me on RYM

The tournament and general year end craziness has not allowed me to get to much of this.
I'm more keen on track based things at the moment, because I don't have too much time for whole albums right now.
The albums I listen to over in the games thread are pretty much the only ones I have time for.

I had already heard half of these and have listened to the other half but none of them are really my thing so I have nothing much to say about them. I voted for the Hinds album as that is the closest to my tastes but that album does still have issues (mainly a bit samey, and although it's all good fun nothing really stands out apart from maybe Bamboo).

Ok then, I will put Get To Know A Top 10 back on ice for December. Perhaps a new installment can come in January if the tournament has run its course. _________________ Add me on RYM
