Kudos, Swede, this should be a great resource. Love that people are suddenly bringing these things back. I've been mulling over a return to UPotD, myself.

Very Happy

So excited I shall be when this happens.

Can't really leave out 10,000 Maniacs.

There's also that unpopular sub-genre of indie pop that was apparent in the late=80's, knows as C86. RYM states it's a combination of indie pop, twee pop, and jangle pop. Interesting enough, I'm surprised there aren't more C86 albums because that sounds pretty awesome.

I mention this again after the OP because I wanted to mention how that genre sounds pretty awesome.

The Golden Era: Popularisation and Development

Towards the mid-80s, a movement of indie pop called C86 - named after the 1986 NME cassette of the same name - came into fruition. This movement was characterised by bands who typically blended indie pop with jangle pop and indie rock, though it is a vague term used to describe bands around the time who were being noticed by NME and placed on its cassette. Not all bands around this time were described as "C86", though.

You're really not making your case for "I read the OP"

You"re not making your case for "Let's not turn this into a JMan thread." If you don't want me on this thread, I'll leave. The only reason I came back to BEA was to be a part of the genre extravaganzas. If you're going to troll me when I'm indeed talking about 80's indie pop, then I'll leave BEA. It's possible you don't want me here, Frogger.
