Again, "Do You Realize" and really much of Yoshimi has lost much of it's luster over the years while I still keep finding new things to glean from each Women listen. I like Women.

Shaking Hand. Love Do You Realize??, but that Women album, and especially this track is just way too good to be eliminated in the second round.

Well I guess it's the Lips heartfelt songwriting vs Women's spindly and engaging musicianship. I just find Do you realise? a whole lot more unique. There's a lot of very good post punk but the Lips ability to write philosophical songs in a pop kind of way is pretty astonishing. I agree the sound (production wise) of the Lips in this era feels a bit dated but their great songs still shine through for me.

Do You Realize is timeless and reminiscent of the era's best more than Shaking Hand is.

Maybe it's just the overuse of the tune or that I greatly prefer the Embyronic/Terror era over Yoshimi, but I still feel like "Do You Realize" is the splenda-lite, amusement-park version of many similar themes they explored in some of their more pop-oriented works (particularly Transmissions) or more ambitious concepts like in Clouds or Soft Bulletin. Oh well I guess it's going to steamroll through the tournament and there's nothing to do about it. Its not a bad tune by any means, but... at this point, ehhh

And I mostly agree with Skinny's ranking though In a Priest Driven Ambulance will always be a personal favorite- the best mix of the extraneous crazy of their earlier works towards their more refined, atmospheric sound of the 90s and beyond.
