The Crunge is one of the worst songs in their catalogue. God, I hate it so much. It shows how much Led Zeppelin could not do soul/funk at all and is a hilarious example of why they should have never tried the attempt.

Excluding "The Cringe", this album is a masterpiece. Unlike some of you, I actually really like "Dancing Days", but my favourite is definitely "No Quarter".

As it stands alone, The Crunge is the weakest song on Houses, but it remains consistent with the heavily outhoing behavior of the whole album, so I enjoy more when I'm listening to the whole album. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Dancing Days is a banger too. My favorite is The Rain Song. _________________ My Top 100 :

No Quarter and The Rain Song are top 3 of their songs easily. The Crunge is not THAT bad, but it is one of their worst songs. Dancing Days is fine. The Song Remains the Same is incredible, Over the Hills and Far Away one of their best folky numbers, The Ocean is a banger, even D’yer Mak’er is fun. If it was a bit more consistent, it would've been on par with 4. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart

Not near the top of my Zep heap, but still a great album. The Crunge and D'yer Mak'er help keep it from rising to the level of II - IV.
Lots of great material though. The Ocean is one of my faves.

Always been one of my favorite Zep albums. Always the debate on 'The Crunge'; personally I don't mind it, not great but doesn't deserve the absolute hammering it gets. It's better than the best song in many other 'also ran' bands repertoire. 'Dancing Days' is one of the happiest songs they do. Always brings a smile to my face.
