It's a challenge. I find going through certain discographies straight through to be tiresome. I love Bruce, but his is one you're gonna wanna take breaks from or everything will start to sound the same. And he and Elvis Costello have released so many records, with the quality deteriorating over time.

NO ROCK of any kind. Except Jazz rock like Steely Dan and indie rock since I don't count it as rock. |
Yeah, I hear what you are saying about rock. I'd still recommend Zappa. There has been very few musical COMPOSERs as diverse and interesting as him. And his work in Jazz Fusion with Hot Rats is AMAZING! Check out his debut "Freak Out!" After that, so different. Again, a person would be retries to say he is "just rock".
Then I'd recommend listening to "Zoot Allures" and "(apostrophe)' "
Yay for Jman getting into Frank Zappa! That will diversify your chart Big time.
Go listen to some of that now... _________________ -Ryan

Anybody got any non-rock discographies for me? I wanna knock off some Alice Cooper from my chart while putting in some diversity. I wanted to go through the whole Fleet Foxes discography, but they only have two albums... |
Minor Threat (1 disc)
Robert Johnson (2 discs)
The Avalanches (1 album)
Miles Davis (a whole lotta stuff!) _________________ -Ryan

Yeah, that's the one. Just broke my 'no compilation' rule and put it at #3 on my chart.

It's missing a lot of essential tracks, but it's the closest thing they have to a best-of, I guess. It tracks their career over 26 years, and many of the Peel sessions versions of songs are superior to the album versions. The consistency is incredible too. I'd recommend starting with The Complete Peel Sessions and then branching out from there.

I've heard The Avalanches. Not a fan. But I guess I should try out Miles Davis. And I should add Stevie Wonder and The Allman Bros. to my discographies.
And I'm not getting into Frank Zappa. Not yet.
