The demonic visages of the angels that I have seen do not suggest an inclination to such things. You must not be fooled by them. You must NOT.

@Mercury- can you recommend me something that fits my chart but is something I'd be hard pressed to listen to on my own?

Hmm... Well first off thanks for even thinking of me and asking me a question.
Looking at your chart its full of just pure, brilliant country and blues and rock+roll classics. Many of which are not as appreciated as they deserve. So I adore your chart.
But in that vein of blues and country and roots and with excellent narrative songwriting, but with punk energy - I think you'd love (as I love and have for awhile)

Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell by Social Distortion
Again, it's right up your alley. Mike Ness is a country songwriter at heart, but his guitar sound while being very rooted in country is incredibly thick and heavy. And this is his/their master work in my opinion. Especially tracks like "Making Believe", "Born to Lose" "99 to Life" "This Time Darlin'" and "Ghost Town Blues". Also his leads are definitely kind of old school rock and roll. At least to my ears. Also their self titled from 2 years earlier is pretty similar and also great. I especially think you'll get a kick out of some of the highs on that album such as "Story of My Life", "Ball and Chain" and the j. Cash cover "Ring of Fire".
I was thinking of recommending X's first 3 albums but especially the 2nd and 3rd (Wild gift, and Under the Big Black Sun respectively) because those 2 are even more obviously rooted in similar genres. Also was thinking of recommending Fire of Love by Gun Club for the same reasons. Gun Club are very rooted in howlin wolf-esquedown and dirty delta meets Chicago blues. And for brilliant gothic country howling and strange country/folk music also was thinking I could rec you 16 Horsepower's album Sackcloth and Ashes.
I hope you like that Social D album. _________________ -Ryan

Hmm, good question. Most music is obviously much more tonal than semiotic in nature, but some BEAcore probably comes pretty close to getting you inside the animal, particularly three albums that are currently too autistic for BEA:
*Hapster Postmodernist (and Very Obscure) Album by Warm Surplus
*Butt Syrup by Supleh
And, of course,
*Aural Autism: Artifacts from the First and Second BEAcore Eras, 2008-2015 by Various Artists

...Good question, but I think it's mostly because I've never heard of them until now. I might correct this in the coming weeks.

@meccalecca Since you seem to be genre knowledgeable - what is Americana music? The definition I get there only confuses me like crazy. Also what the heck exactly is alt-country?
