I guess this is a good starting point so:
Ambient 1 Music For Airports by Brian Eno
I'm kinda in the same boat as RockyRaccoon when it comes to ambient, a lot of what I've heard is hit or miss, some I find best as background music for study marathons, whereas some I properly love and play really often, such as:
Geogaddi by Boards Of Canada
Just finished downloading the You Are No One. I'll come back later after a few listens and after I've gathered my thoughts. _________________

The album started off a bit lame, but the last three tracks were good.

I enjoyed it, but not much more. It was gorgeous and relaxing, but as others have said the music was a little overly simplistic for my tastes. There was nothing I straight-up disliked about it but nothing about it compels me to give it another listen in the near future.
That being said, it's probably my favorite listen of 2014 so far. Great find!

Downloading.
The cover reminds me of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Chilling and relaxing, but it's too much of background music and not enough detail to it.
I liked it however.

It's enjoyable, I actually prefer the first 3 tracks over the last 2, 'The Bathory Allure' in particular is pretty cool, I mean it can get repetitive still though, as is the case with a lot of ambient albums I've heard, but it doesn't overdo it in terms of repetitiveness if that makes sense. Probably in the top half of ambient albums I've heard. _________________

Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

It sounds similar to Tangerine Dream, and I love Tangerine Dream. It doesn't seem to capture that beautiful landscape sound that Tangerine Dream does in Stratosphere. I liked this one, but it didn't exactly move me, which is a quality that ambient music needs to have to set itself apart. To me, there has to be something of substance within the music to be top tier ambient other than just being relaxing. Stratospere (which isn't exactly ambient) is a great example of such. I feel it's able to create this huge space-like atmosphere while being able to create this picture of a beautiful area that just goes on for miles and miles.
You Are No One is good. I like it, but the problem I find is that it doesn't set itself apart well enough. I feel like I could have a better experience when listening from other artists/albums in the genre such as The Orb, Tim Hecker, Biosphere, etc.
Also, I'm not an expert in ambient music or anything, I just know what i think makes what better. Good album though, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Finally got around to listening to it after finishing up the last of the 2013 listening I wanted to do, I won't be so late to the party for the rest of these, so no worries. Anyways, I enjoyed it a lot. Far more active of ambient stuff than I was expecting. The first three tracks felt like there was something constantly bubbling underneath that exploded by the fourth into this huge, almost post-rocky thing. The noisey bits give me some Tim Hecker vibes, but I wouldn't quite put it up to that standard. I think the last track kind of felt like a bit of a tame conclusion, it had that theatrical post-rock feel to it as well, but I think it kind of meandered a bit. Anyways, overall I enjoyed it and since it's so short it makes it really easy to just throw it on.
