This album crushed my soul into a thousand tiny pieces. I love it.
Scariest listen of my life. Ending with Magic Window was the most nerve-racking couple minutes ever, even after multiple listens. This album is the epitome of an underrated masterpiece
This is such a great album. It should be number one in 2002 over the great 4 alt/indie albums of that year which I still love, Rush of Blood To the Head, Turn On the Bright Lights, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, and Yankee Foxtrot Hotel. This is so different and so much more and I know why it's not number 1, it's so misunderstood for simplicity when it's so creative and just great.
The album cover tempts me to make 99 duplicates of the album and put them all including the actual album into my overall chart!
Geogaddi is a dense and subtle listening experience. Listeners should approach the album with an open mind as what to expect from listening. Most tend to take something completely different from the album; some will find this album soothing and remorseful, and some will find it haunting and subtly evil. Animals and pets have even been reported to act strangely when this album is playing! Now isn’t that interesting? Whatever the case, most will come to agree that Boards of Canada’s Geogaddi is an outstanding IBM release that stands up to Music Has A Right To Children as a more than competent follow-up effort. In truth, it can even become a classic itself in its own subtle and eerie way.
Thank god for the electronic music tourney
I swear this album was on like 3 charts when I first got on this site. Huzzah for the super-sized charts I guess.
That's good to hear :), it is undeniably the scariest, most disturbing piece of music ever made.
I love Pena :D
How are we supposed to rate this? I mean, I THINK I like it, but I'm not sure really what it is...with Music Has The Right To Children, there were all the aspects you really needed to be able to rate an album. But this, I have no clue. (Favourable) would be an easy way to rate this album...And obviously Squishypuff hasn't heard Pena by Captain Beefheart yet....
