For some reason, this chart seems a bit more accessible and less alien to me than it did when I first joined BEA (maybe it's because 'Forever Changes' and 'Blue Lines' ended up finding their way onto my own chart).
'Original Pirate Material' was actually the first hip-hop album I ever bought, back when it came out (I think the follow-up, 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' was the second ) though I've not really made the effort with hip-hop since.
There are a lot of albums here that I need to get round to, from a few different genres.

Cheers for commenting, it's never been my intention to make my chart "alien" to anybody, just to convey my taste in music and hopefully provide people with some decent recommendations. Wouldn't personally describe The Streets as "hip-hop" (it's UK garage with hip-hop influences). In terms of hip-hop, I'd recommend everything on this chart obviously, but from what I've seen of your posts I'd recommend the list below first:

Skinnyman might be something that would interest you, it's socially aware UK hip-hop (although most hip-hop tends to be socially aware, so I understand that may mean absolutely nothing).

Everybody check out that I-Roy compilation at #19, it's cool-as-fuck, stream-of-consciousness, reggaefied proto-rap. Guaranteed to cure your halitosis.

I love this chart! It's undergone some massive changes. Just a couple weeks ago I took a look t your chart for recs and it was quite diff. For example, where in heaven is Clouds Taste Metallic? I suppose you wanted to switch it up a bit and got tired of the same ol' album in the top 2?
Anyway, this is great. So many amazing recs here. I look forward to checking them out. _________________ -Ryan
