Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. This album probably has more sentimental value to me than anything, but I think, objectively, it deserves more praise than it gets. Post hardcore and pop punk probably isn't for everyone, but I can't think of another album that has blended the 2 for fluidly than this one. It's also mixed beautifully and has a pretty refined sound for a borderline metal record. Not to mention, the vocals are quite impressive.
