Really has aged. I love the satirical rap lyrics and the funky beats.

God this thing just sounds average. It's not very exciting, the lyrics aren't very interesting... It just sorta plays and that's it. Things sure as hell got better by Paul's Boutique, though.

A classic. This ground breaking album helped bring rap to mainstream and if you were around when it came out, you can quote the lyrics.

A great party album. The Beastie Boys were breaking ground, giving hip-hop a punk rock attitude and sound. That said, this pales in comparison to the 3 albums that followed.

Maybe the best party ever, forever. Beastie Boys are one of the all-time great bands. This album is nothing but highlights.

definitely belongs in top 500 of all time, any record that has the impact that this one did deserves those accolades. Other than obvisous hits, She's crafty, girls and Paul revere are great tracks.

Incredibly fun and energetic, Licensed to Ill built upon the rock / rap foundations laid down by Run DMC. Paul Revere, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Fight for Your Right to Party and Brass Monkey are rap classics. Having said that, the album is strong but probably doesn't belong in the Top 500 of all time.

White boy funk sucks? Hell no! The beastie boys perfect the rap/rock template of run d.m.c. and add their white boy smarm , charm and attitude. The rhymes, sampling and interplay between members is Tnotch. "fight for your right" was the hit, but "no sleep til brooklyn" kicks its arse and most other tracks are just as clever.
